The loft bedroom
This room felt cold, had damp patches, a funny little nook at the top of the stairs and the wooden balustrade and spindles felt really imposing in the room.

The first thing to do was to make a feature of the funny little nook by designing a floating shelf arrangement, which was then expertly crafted by Ben , Ben then took the orange wooden spindles away and replaced them with glass which instantly opened up the room!

James then colour drenched the room in a shade called Factor 50 by Coat paints, a beautiful corally pink transforming the room into a warm, enveloping space which changes colour with the light... Just gorgeous 🧡🩷

This is the big front bedroom. I love this room. I'd been wanting to use this beautiful mural wallpaper from Dunelm from the first time I saw it and it's perfect for everyone at any age from child to adult.

The rest of the walls are the neutral used throughout the house and the furniture is a lovely sage green colour, a very calming beautiful space ❤️

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted!! Where does the time go?!

This is the master bedroom, some before and afters, we even managed to squeeze in an ensuite! The old noisy boiler from the cupboard in the corner was removed and a new quiet one was installed in the garage, with the addition of new shelves (thanks to Ben ) this created the perfect space for a linen cupboard. All of the decorating was expertly done by 😊

Phase one has now finished on the house, bar a few small bits and bobs and phase two has just begun...the side and rear extension!

The smallest bedroom - with ......and my most favourite bedroom, if not my favourite room.

Small bedrooms can be tricky, especially when there's a bulkhead from the stairs taking up valuable space.

This is where Ben has really worked his magic. Here he has created a built in bed with 3 deep drawers underneath creating fab storage. The headboard, which was built over the bulkhead hides a cupboard at the side and shelves above, there is also a small bookcase at the foot of the bed, all of which make the most of the space available.

The mural, painted in all of the colours used throughout the house, creating a cohesive look was painted by myself and my fab friend ...thank you Lisa ❤️

The stairs

I love, love this transformation, it still needs a few finishing touches but the  feeling is so welcoming as you walk in.

I tried panelling here, but gave up as I couldn't get my head around the angles 😂 and left it to the expert Ben who made it look easy! Ben has done so much amazing joinery work in the house, can't wait to show you what else he's done, I'm sure he could build anything! I would highly recommend him.

The same colours have been used throughout the house, it's a neutral based palette with splashes of colour, giving the house a feeling of continuity and an overall calmness. 

My decorating hero is James , he stripped and prepped all of the walls and the orange wood...sooo much orange wood 😭 and painted virtually the entire house, he's just fab and kept me sane throughout this project....thank you James ❤️, again, can't recommend him enough x

The kitchen and dining area is a great space but the kitchen was a little tired, we wanted to make it look beautiful as cheaply and easily as possible as the owners are planning an extension in the new year. As you can see from the photos the sink and worktop were just too far past their best so we changed those and created a lovely, breakfast bar.
We absolutely love the wooden panelling around the breakfast bar created by Ben from , it was an easy and fairly inexpensive way to completely transform it.
With a lick of paint to cover the cold grey colour (the whole house was painted in it! ) it's now a warm, inviting and sociable space 💚

I didn't intend to wait so long before posting updates on the house but it's been a busy ole summer, what with GCSES, school hols and my middle one just going off to Australia for 10 months 🥺, things just ground to a bit of a halt. 

Anyway, this is the gorgeous, almost -finished lounge, still got bits and bobs to finish off like painting skirting and new replacement doors (that's a whole house job!) but we've done so much and love the transformation!

The panelling (done by me with the help of a couple of friends, thanks Lisa and Kirstie 😊) has worked so well and really changed the space and the whole vibe of the room.

Happy new year!!

I know that seems like a while ago now but we've busy behind the scenes here at Old Spruce with lots of exciting things which we'll hopefully get to tell you about soon!!

These beautiful bedsides were completed and delivered at the end of last year to a customer in London, they chose this mural to add an oriental touch to an otherwise very plain room.
Don't they look beautiful 😍

🌟Commission🌟

We don't always remember to take before pictures...too keen to get started! However, we did for this commission and we're so glad we did! (Scroll to see the before)

We absolutely love the commission work that we do, it's also nice to be able to make something beautiful to sell.

This fabulous cabinet was a real labour of love and has far exceeded our vision.

Completely wrapped in a gorgeous dark green crocodile textured wallpaper on the outside and a linen look wallpaper on the inside, it has been varnished umpteen times to protect it (actually lost count of how many coats 😆).

It really is a proper statement piece which could be used anywhere in the home and is now available to buy. 💚
