Thank you to the Dickin Arms last night for the singing and karaoke opportunity nice to get back into the swing of things after a long time off. I could just get the bug back for it again.
Merry Xmas Everybody 🎄❤️
Food for thought for 2024

A very Merry Christmas to all my Family, Friends and Colleagues! Hope Santa brings you everything you asked for and all the best for 2023!🎄 Here's Blue Christmas mostly famously recorded by Elvis Presley in 1964

No.4 hit for Billy Fury from 1962. Have a good weekend all!

With lockdown on the way(boo hiss!) I'll be getting back to sticking a few videos on again. Here's a Bond Theme which I did during the first lockdown and a little tribute to the great Sean Connery! RIP 007!

Offering for this mid-week is another from the King! I came across the Elvis Presley version of this song recently on a compilation and really liked it. I Gotta Know was first recorded by Cliff Richard & The Shadows in 1959 before Elvis' a year later. Originally B the side to 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' which was a massive No.1. However the track reached No.14 on it's own during 1960 as well. Stay A

1966 International hit from Australian band The Easybeats, reached No.6 in the UK. In someways the Easybeats were the forerunner of one of the biggest rock bands in the world a few years later. Band member and song writer George Young was the elder brother of AC/DCs Angus and Malcolm Young. Have a good weekend everyone and Stay Safe!

Travellin' Light by Cliff Richard his 2nd UK No 1. from 1959. Enjoy the weekend! Stay Safe!

I first heard this song covered on(of all places) the Jive Bunny Swing in the Mood Album which my parents had on cassette as I was growing up. Originally a 1963 hit for American vocal group The Cascades, written by band member John Gummoe. It reached No.5 in the UK. Sadly the group never hit the heights again, I guess becoming what we'd call one hit wonders!
Enjoy and Stay Safe/Alert!

A modern song!! It makes a nice change for me at least but don't worry if you prefer 50s/60s hits, it's not going to become a habit for me with the audiences I perform too but as a big Green Day fan they have produced the odd excellent ballad.
Good Riddance(Time of Your Life) probably being the most well known in the 90s. Ordinary World is a track from the Revolution Radio album 2016/17 and also a film of the same name which is lead singer, songwriter and guitarists Billie Joe Armstrong's acting debut(shockingly I haven't seen it!).
Enjoy and remember Stay Safe/Alert!

Originally a big 4 week no.1 for Elvis in 1962 from the film and album Blue Hawaii, Can't Help Falling in Love. UB40 also had a successful cover version in the early 90s. Stay Alert/Safe All!
