Four mobile basic services carried out in Wellingborough today and one in Irthlingborough.
Two of the bikes will soon need new chains and cables definitely need replacing.
Two of the bikes chains are completely worn and need replacing straightaway.
The first thing I do in a service is check for chain wear. This can be overlooked as a cyclist but chain wear can shorten the lifespan of other expensive components. It’s worth getting this checked at regular intervals.
I then follow by checking rear mech hanger alignment.
It’s pointless trying to index gears if the hanger is bent.
3 out of 5 bike today required hanger realignment.

This Tarmac SL7 has been upgraded using Coated Ceramicspeed bearings. They have been installed inside the bottom bracket and also the oversized pulley wheel system.
This creates the lowest drivetrain friction available. If this is something of interest please get in touch.
You may notice a bounce or wobble to the rear of the bike as the wheel spins. This is because the wheel needs balancing. It doesn’t matter how expensive your wheelset is they may still need balancing. This is also a service I can provide when truing your wheels
