Another amazing evening at the Mansion House, yearly “Furnture Makers Company” “Masters installation and dinner”. Always a privilege to be invited to these big events.

It’s always a dress to impress, which is nice too see everyone. So on the odd occasion the suit comes out of the wardrobe, I know it’s going to be a good night.

Then there is the family Labrador Monty waiting for me the next morning.

I had a nice visit from Stuart today, from to my wood workshop in Watford, to show me some techniques on how to apply Rubio Monocoat Maintenance oil, mixed with Oil Plus 2C Slate Grey, on a Pine dining table top restoration.

The result is amazing. I will now be using on my modern work more often.

Another incredible week 22nd - 25th September taking part in The ASTO Small Ships Race 2022, in the Isle of Wight, on my second volunteering trip with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust . ⛵️. I absolutely love it and the people are so friendly, making new friends every time and seeing existing friends. The Yacht has duel steering wheels, where we were all taking turns At The Helm. So when relaxing, someone is on the other wheel. Oh yes, I almost forgot. ASTO wanted each crew to dress up in disco fancy dress, just before we started the race and were scored for the best efforts.

Another lovely day event yesterday with the Livery I am a member of, . We were at Guild Hall in London, for the Election of Lord Mayor , then lunch at The Furniture Makers Hall. All of this after a job completion of a client’s wonderful garden furniture restoration of repairing joints, removing the old grey damage and applying a new coat of polish. If anyone needs any garden furniture restored, feel free to contact me, and I will be happy to help.

If you are thinking, why is there a Rhino logo ? Well its a story of a good friend called Max who designed the fantastic logo, branding and colours. Sam Ryan, Rhino, that is where it came from.

A fantastic day at the Bosch centre yesterday.

Working with the Bosch Dremel power tool and using Rubio Monocoat wood polish finishes, to create the desired look on our wooden product.

It was great meeting like minded people in the furniture making and furniture restoration business, where we tested the large range of Rubio Monocoat colours. Then it was back to my wood workshop to apply to my furniture.

I will certainly start using the wood polishes range, as it is a fantastic product.

What a fantastic evening with “The Furniture Makers Company, Livery” at the Mansion House in London, the yearly installation dinner. The biggest event of the year and it was one to remember. Being a member and Liveryman is great.

Gosh. This Facebook memory. I can’t believe it was 8 years ago that I was in Australia. The East Coast travelling was amazing and Sydney was a wonderful place to see. Wow what a great life experience that was for me. Just before I set up my buisness Sam Ryan Furniture after studying Furniture Making and Furniture Restoration at university. It seems like such a long time ago. Maybe one day in the far future, I may visit again. I did love that holiday break.
