Just completed another project using poured resin. A bedside table with a design brief to have some purple!. A little different this time using stainless steel rods between the wood pieces and encased in the resin. The coloured pigment included a metallic finish which adds a little extra visual effect. Working with American Black Walnut is always a joy. I am pleased with how it turned out. On to the next piece.

It’s been a while. I hope you are all well? Lockdown and isolation, combined with a home workshop, does mean more time to spend on ‘making’. This is my latest Jewellery box. It is made of solid Sapele with an Olive Ash Burl Veneer decorate lid. The inside is lined with felt and specialist brass box hinges used to create a clean look. Well, I finally finished this little project. I have to admit it was a real learning curve. This was my first venture into the world of poured resin! I have learned a lot from this project, and look forward to trying it again. The table is made from raw edge English Cherry and finished with lacquer and natural bees wax.

Not often you get a chance to revisit a property where you already have a piece on display. This chest of drawers was one of my first commission and it’s great to see it still looks as good as the day it left the workshop. With handmade furniture, you have the reassurance it’s built to last.
