I'm close to making www.gilespreenedesign.com a working business.
Take a look at my updated site and see the kind of services I offer, if there is anything you may require but it isn't shown then contact me to discuss.
There are a couple of things to consider that are important prior to getting in touch. These are applicable whether you're a friend or a new contact, unfortunately these points are not open to discussion as I've made the mistake of not going by these guidelines and it can cause confusion.
My process:
1. Either contact me by phone or email to see if www.GilesPreeneDesign.com can help
2. If it's something I can help with then follow up with a full brief in writing with your budget. If you say you don't know what your budget is then I'll make a note of this on the agreement and I will quote at my standard hourly/daily rate and assume that you are happy with this. The bottom line is, if you don't know what you've put aside for the project, how can I know? Easiest solution, tell me your budget :).
3. I'll put together an agreement highlighting what I'll be offering along with a quote for the work which can be adjusted by you prior to signing.
4. If everyone is ok with the proposal then return it electronically, signed and with the requested deposit amount, normally 50%. No work will commence until this has been completed.
5. When work has been completed then the remainder of the balance will be requested before the final work is transferred to you.
If the quote is made by working around your budget, I can ensure what I'm offering you is feasible timewise along with possible additional requirements of the project.
Creative services, especially when they may cover several different processes in one project are difficult to put a price tag on. I've tried to be as transparent as possible about my base price level but I see every project individually where the path to the result of one project can be vastly different from the path to the next.
I've always ensured in my career that I do the best job in whatever scenario I'm in.
The aim of 'Giles Preene Design' is to get the best result for your requirements and this is why I limit the work I take on. The fact is, I always do more than I charge for because the projects I take on are those which I know interest me and I'm happy to give a bit more to clients who appreciate that the cost relates to time, experience, research, development and innovative ideas towards achieving the best result.
