Stick 'n' Step Stick 'n' Step provides Conductive Education to over 100 children from across North West UK We do not receive any statutory funding.

Stick 'n' Step have 2 centres; one in Wallasey and one in Runcorn and we currently provide free weekly or twice weekly conductive education sessions to over 100 children from across the North-West. Conductive Education is designed to help children and young people to become more mobile, more confident and more independent- ultimately helping them to reach their personal potential and to go on and

live a more independent life. This development takes time and many of the children that we work with will attend Stick 'n' Step sessions for many years. It costs in the region of £750,000 per year to deliver our services annually. It costs £7000 per child, per year to provide weekly or twice weekly group conductive sessions to each child that Stick 'n' Step supports. We rely on the generosity of local people, businesses, communities and grant making trusts. We want to ensure that all families in the North West of England, regardless of financial position, are able to access the support and services they need.

Gary has volunteered with Stick ‘n’ Step for over 7 years now, starting by supporting the Fundraising Team with admin tasks and over the years has taken on many other challenges such as gardening, tips runs, system analytics, assisting the development of our CRM and he also plays a pivotal role at our Christmas Party each year. ❤️

There’s nothing that Gary won’t do for us and we truly cherish his company and unwavering support! Thank you Gary!

Our parent volunteers who donate their time at our events are so invaluable to us ❤️ We always need an extra pair of hands when we are fundraising out and about and it is always wonderful to be supported by our families.

It is also great for the wider public to chat with our families, who can share, first-hand, how Stick ‘n’ Step support their child though our life-changing programme.

✨ Volunteers Week 2026 - Kate

Kate spent 6 months with Stick ‘n’ Step in 2024 on a secondment through the John Lewis Golden Jubilee Trust. Since then, Kate has continued to volunteer with us every Tuesday – spending the mornings in the classroom and then supporting the fundraising team in the afternoon.

Kate has also jumped out of a plane to raise funds for Stick ‘n’ Step and is also taking on Tough Mudder this coming October!💪

Kate is an asset to the team and an absolute joy to be around 🩵

The annual kayak event – now in its 14th year – takes place on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 with incredible supporters kayaking or paddle boarding 14 miles from New Brighton to Thurstaston to raise money for local charities including Stick 'n' Step

We are delighted to announce a glittering celebration ball, taking place on 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the iconic Titanic Hotel, Liverpool. ❤️

Supporters, friends, parents, and corporate partners are invited to join the charity for a fabulous evening filled with celebration, entertainment, and opportunities to make a life-changing difference to our children and young people.

The evening will begin with a drink’s reception at 6:30pm, followed by a three-course meal, a charity raffle, and an exciting auction, before the event draws to a close at 1:00am. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, with a black-tie dress code.

We would love to welcome you all, parents, young people and supporters to help us start our 25th year celebrations and look at the impact that your support has had on the lives of our children and young people from across the region. ✨ Patrick. Hollie and Honor enjoyed a fine motor skills focused session. After watering our plants with the spray bottle using both hands, the girls opted to create mini monsters with the sticky building blocks while Patrick decided to make a flower tower. 🌺

On the floor we had to unclip pegs from our clothes. The concentration on their faces was incredible. Well done group, fantastic job!! 👏

✨James is doing some fabulous work on his fine motor skills and precision of finger movements.

We are working on helping him put his trainers on with greater independence, open packets/yogurts with more independence, and maintaining the range of movement in his hands, fingers and thumb. 👌

We've also been working on dexterity skills by turning a large dice with one hand and rolling it between the fingers. Whilst this was a little visually tricky, the actual skill was executed really well. Well done James! 👏
