Unfortunately, with no enquires and no new work coming in, and no work now. I have had no choice other than to close our KemptonsHomeImprovements. Website.

I don’t like doing bathrooms, there is so much work you do that is hidden in the end. Old house, newly plastered walls that although flat, curve into the room at the edges. This makes it extremely awkward to end up with a true, flat, stud wall that can accommodate all the client’s requirements. I don’t like doing them, but I excel when challenged. A couple of pictures to give you an insight as to what we are creating. Seating and niche combined, that is a first for me. Strip lighting will also be incorporated to recessed areas. Everything pressurised ok thankfully as using a second hand shower valve with new boss fittings.

Something different. Things have been quiet on the work front, so me and Harry were glad to assist. It was hot having no shade from the sun and digging out the roots we could find was hard work, but worth it as now the client can cope with how we left it. Three days from start to finish.

This carpentry job used all of my carpentry skills present and past. A utility room, to be refurbished using new timber and up cycling a frame with doors.
The frame and doors had been sitting in a garage for 40+ years and were part of the existing building originally. Approx 1900.
Spec:
To build a cupboard that is suspended. 600mm deep. 1300mm wide to drop from the ceiling and sit 40mm above a washing machine. No counter top or floor support. To use an existing piece of period framework and add two drawers for storage.
Other side of utility room:
Replicate existing cupoards across open space to provide storage area above hanging space.
Cupboard doors to be half lapped for closing to match existing doors.
Everything built by hand on site other than the cupboard doors. These I built in my workshop, knowing the framework I installed was square.
A unique bespoke finish that can only be achieved with care and love for your craft.
