Just the 1 was set up as a way of sharing a love of collecting and updating items,found and liked for one reason or another,be it from memories,shape,colour,style or even just wanting to have a go at something new,something I've not done before. Initially a hobby,but after redundancy,from my job,and being a mum (both flown the nest,for now) I'm now trying to make a go of it on a more permanent lev

Because of family commitments and health issues, I'm finding it hard to make time for any new projects. I do miss this and hope in the not too distant future to take it up again. I've found it to be an enjoyable hobby. But for now, this group will be closed. Thank you to all who followed me.x

Gave a helping hand to a lovely lady who'd started a traditional upholstery course. After two lessons had only managed to strip the chair, the next four lessons got the base layers and shaping to the back section. Unfortunately she couldn't do another course to finish her project.
I felt for her. The best bit about reupholstering a piece of furniture is seeing it finished and the satisfaction and pride you get knowing you did it.

This antique bedroom chair has been reupholstered in a pretty Ashley Wilde fabric. Background colour white with a bright pink and green floral design. It has a fire retardent liner beneath the fabric. The frame has been painted salt white, waxed and polished. Being an antique the chair shows signs of age in parts and is heavier than later reproductions.
The height of the chair from top( back) to the floor is 67cms. 55cms wide. Depth back of seat to front 61cms.
Top of seat to floor 43cms.
