Final job of 2023 completed this afternoon an external staircase made of Accoya which is a sustainable wood which is guaranteed to last for years. The work has been carried out on this grade 2 listed canal side warehouse located in Wappenshall. It was originally designed by Thomas Telford in the 1830s. This is part of an ongoing project by The Shrewsbury and Newport Canals Trust to restore this building back to its former glory. We were very privileged to be able to be part of such an important and unique project.

Sustainability is an essential part of our work at David Jackson & Son's. That's why we're committed to using sustainable and eco-friendly materials and ensuring our practices minimise any negative impact on the environment.

We pride ourselves on using software that minimises our raw material consumption and we've already achieved our aim of sending zero waste to landfill. Even the offcuts and shavings created during the crafting process are recycled as kindling and animal bedding respectively! ♻️

We've recently involved ourselves in a sustainability program which has allowed us to plant 81 trees to future proof our craft for generations to enjoy 🌳
