All coffee lovers will already beware of the recent surges in Coffee Prices. It has been well documented in the news throughout 2024 and is perceived to continue making headlines into the start of 2025. Many economic and climate factors have seen Coffee Prices recently hit a 13 year high, a reported +50% increase in the last 12 months.
Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer and exporter, has seen drier weather and above-average temperatures affecting crop yields. Vietnams Central Highlands region has experienced extreme heat and the country’s worst drought for almost a decade. This is to name only a few factors.
Coffee production is vulnerable to dramatic weather changes, particularly very hot and rainy conditions as this subsequently allows pests and diseases to spread. Some scientists have nicknamed coffee a ‘Goldilocks Plant’ as it is most bountiful if temperatures are neither too warm nor too cool, too wet or too dry, but…. ‘Just right’
Our suppliers have continued to keep a close eye on the Coffee Market and we have held off passing the price hikes on for as long as possible. Continued pricing pressures within the market has meant that we have no other choice at this moment but to notify you that we will be increasing all our coffee prices across the range by 10%, as from 6th January.
We would like to thank you for your continued custom and loyalty and hope you understand it’s not a ‘want too, but a need too’ decision.
