As an insight into our design service at MoirWade, here is a short video of a proposed bedroom we are currently designing for one of our clients. Once we have agreed a brief, a footprint and a rough layout of a scheme, we can start a 3D design that not only incorporates paint colours, timber finishes and textures, but also gives an accurate interpretation of the finished room. It’s at this stage where the fine details can be agreed on. We can change colours and materials, hardware and floor coverings – even down to where the sun comes into the room at any given time of the day. This has helped our clients get as perfect a depiction of what can be achieved before we start cutting up the wood!
Please note: Sausage dog not included in all designs. We can tailor this to any pet (if required)

We all have dozens of household items that don’t warrant their own specific storage area. Back of the cupboard is sometimes the best such items can hope for.
A dedicated flower room solves one such problem. Where do all the vases go, and more importantly, how can we make them easily accessible but also more attractive?
Working with our client we created a series of niches and shelving specifically designed to storage a variety of sized vases and pots.
The finite was hand painted in a gorgeous Attic 2 by Little Greene Paint Company complements with Canterbury quartz by our friends at World of Marble.
The Shaw’s Butler sink is perfect for trimming flowers and the stand out piece, an Aged Brass pot filler tap by Perrin and Rowe really finishes the room nicely.
A beautiful room designed to create beautiful displays 🌷 🌺 🌹

Small or large. Which kitchen size do we find easiest to design?
Large rooms can sometimes be so big, the options can be limited. No one wants to walk 6 meters from fridge to oven. You can’t have an island that big it takes all day to walk round. Similar issues arise with a small room. We still vouch that small kitchens are easier in a way as there is only so much you can do.
This one however was an exception.
Our client had a U-shaped kitchen previously, but this time wanted to incorporate not only the usual appliances: Fridge, oven, sink, washing machine – but now with the addition of a dishwasher and an integrated bin if possible! Oh, and while you’re at it, we’d like a bit more storage please! We’re off on holiday, see you in 2 weeks!
So, after a few ideas were bounced around, we settled on a galley kitchen. The beauty of this is you can put the appliances against a wall, without pinching corner space. This makes the kitchen so much more ergonomic and storage friendly. It also give a better sense of space.
A few open shelves with rebated lighting, keeping the tall cabinetry housing the ovens, microwave and fridge freezer round the corner can be deceptive but so very practical.
The cabinetry was all hand painted in Cornforth White by Farrow and Ball complimented by k***s and cup handles in matt black by Carlisle Brass.
The worktops and upstands were all black granite, fabricated and installed by World of Marble with a Shaws sink and this splendid matt black tap by Franke.

Bookshelves and more bookshelves. We can’t get enough of them, and neither it seems can our clients! After kitchens these are the next most popular rooms that we are asked to do. They add tranquillity to a home, a space for reading and reflection and quiet - things we often take for granted.
Additionally, they are a glorious opportunity to showcase sculptures and books and an array of beautifully crafted keepsakes and memories.
These were constructed in solid English Oak with a subtle stain to give a rich and warm feel. The individual shelf lighting adds another touch of glamour to the room and brings out the beautiful depth of the timber. The cabinetry was designed without handles so we constructed the base cabinetry with pop out doors.
Absolutely in love with this tone of timber and the design makes this room such an elegant space.

7 years ago we worked on a project creating a gorgeous kitchen for a lovely family featuring not one but two island units. Imagine our excitement when they asked us to return and work with them on their new dream home in conjunction with L&F architects.

This time we had more space to work with – more space than we’ve ever worked with to be truthful! Again, 2 island units were required as it worked so well in their previous home. Imagine an island unit so big we had to ship in super jumbo sheets of beautiful Calacatta Gold quartz. Each island unit measures an astonishing 3.5m x 2m, taking 8 men to lift each individual piece!
This cabinetry was manufactured in English Oak with a carefully selected stain to enhance the beauty of the timber and complement the flooring and worktops.

The perimeter furniture was hand painted in Mushroom by Little Greene featuring sit on larder cabinets with slide back doors for functionality but also because it looks so nice with the doors open! These perimeter cabinets framed an utterly gorgeous 2205mm Lacanche Vezelay duel fuel cooker with large canopy over and antiqued mirror behind, expertly handcrafted by Joanna Sheward at The Antiqued Mirror Company.

As well as fully integrated appliances, we had the task of creating a display fridge. Glazed doors, lined inside with Calacatta Gold by World of Marble, illuminated with LED lighting and refrigerated with full height glass shelving. Dare say we haven’t done one before, but we think it looks utterly amazing.

Again we asked Heritage Brass to supply the hardware, utilising their incredible bronze Deco handles to really finish it all off. The terrific pendant lights over the island units were supplied by Pooky Lighting.

Just over 6 years ago we worked for lovely clients in their previous house and amongst many rooms, we designed and installed a delicate pantry.
Well, the client moved home, dropped us a line and asked for more of the same – but bigger! MUCH bigger!
Starting off with English Oak for the furniture, we experimented with various stains and many shades until we achieved exactly what our client desired.
The remit was for a visual feast, practical but ultimately as the room was straight off the kitchen, it needed to complement the beautiful furniture we created (pictures to follow!) but also draw you in to the many delights on offer!
Sweets, biscuits and pastries galore, to be honest we could just camp out here and never leave!
We had an entire wall of glazed doors, with glass shelving and subtle internal lighting for the array of jars and glassware. Using solid Oak tongue and groove timber for the internals really warms the furniture and gives it that next level of luxury. All timber shelves had a rebated Led strip under.
The worktops were Calacatta Gold quartz installed by the meticulous World of Marble with stunning bronze handles by Heritage Brass.

As it’s a Friday, here’s something a little bit different.
We were asked by a previous client to create something a bit special for their new home. They needed the kitchen to be practical, provide them with a great sociable space but also a very usable kitchen as they are keen cooks.
The perimeter furniture housed the appliances, a range of integrated Miele ovens, microwaves and steam ovens, with a large integrated fridge freezer. The corner larder cabinet we decided to glaze, with faceted glass, slightly frosted but illuminated from behind. This provides a huge amount of storage but aesthetically pleasing as per the remit.
The central island was a beautifully curved piece of furniture, with Shaw’s inset sink, gorgeous MGS taps, bins and a huge amount of prep space and additional storage.
The impact piece however was over towards the more sociable end of the kitchen. A 1400mm diameter barreled island was created, along with a live edge resin top to act as a breakfast bar. Colours were chosen, samples were made and the timber was carefully selected and arranged to the client’s exact wishes. We experimented with light pads behind, trying out various colours, depths and light strength until we had exactly what we envisioned. The finished piece is a real show stopper, and from our initial ideas to completion, we, and the client, were left incredibly satisfied. Much thanks to Chris at Live Edge of Leicester for his patience and endless samples. Top job.
The Macabus Fantasy worktops were fabricated and installed by the skillful Just Granite and the handles were all supplied by Alexander and Wilks.
The furniture was all handpainted in situ in a combination of Farrow and Ball Stiffkey Blue and Calamine.
