Hello insta, long time no post!

I got sick of my chrome plated lever caps, so for the past year I've been keeping an eye out for non chrome or nickel plated ones on the second hand market. I dislike how if there is a little bit of corrosion on the plating (and they usually come to you in this condition), its damn near impossible to remove the stuff with a wirewheel. So now I'm very happy.

Even though they are arguably 'harlequins' in collector's eyes, to me they are a matching set like no other. Can't wait to have some time spare to use them some more.

Heres a throwback from a previous production I worked on - an antique chair that needed to be taller for a specific reason. Modifying older objects is always exciting for me, as often you will see not only witness marks from the original maker, but additionally all those who followed with their own repairs too.

Driving out to the middle of nowhere to get it was also very interesting! Scavenging for props is it's own special treasure hunt.

Quick restoration for an ohio tool co. No.4 benchplane. This thing is so unusual, the blade is tapered like a traditional wooden plane, and the brass blade adjustment k**b is reverse-threaded.

The rosewood handles are a joy to behold, and a rarity here in the UK, where you're much more likely to find stained beech handles. Always stunned by how well some restorations turn out, this one really didnt look like it would work out this way when I got it in it's neglected condition (pictured).

To all my fellow woodworkers, if you ever find yourself in Bristol, do yourself a favour and head to a place called "Bristol Design". I've been to a fair few second hand tool shops in my time, and this one is an absolutely gold mine. Can't stress how lovely they are. They do old and new stuff too! The photos do not do their inventory justice.

Fixed up a massive pair of scissors for somebody I respect about a fortnight ago. They're a maker in multiple mediums, including fabric and paper, so hopefully this will see some use.

Scissors are such sensitive instruments to repair compared to chisels and knifes - makes fixing them that much more rewarding.

Please forgive the mess, life has been crazy the past few weeks and I'm most grateful. Cannot wait to share it here!
