Renovating our seaside apartment has been a massive job. Inspite it having huge potential, beautiful features and a sea view, it was tired, grubby, cramped and had a strange layout. It’s been a labour of love and we’re finally nearly finished.
Today I thought I’d share the back bedroom makeover as this was the first room completed.
This bedroom was a very blue, very cluttered girls bedroom before we brought it. Once emptied the blue walls were grubby, lumpy and badly painted. All the woodwork was dirty and yellow and the painted floorboards were gappy and loose.
On the plus side it had really high ceilings at about 3 meters, nice skirting and a lovely original door with an original doorknob.
So the prepping began 🧰 !
Everywhere was cleaned🧽 🧹 🧼
All the wood work was sanded, the floorboards were fixed and levelled and the walls were filled and sanded.
Then the walls, door, skirting and window frame were painted white and the feature fitted cupboard was painted a lovely bright blue. 🎨
The cupboard is also lined with a pretty wallpaper (I forgot to take a photo in f the inside🤦♀️)
⛵️ Nautical paintings were hung, furniture purchased, built and positioned and accessories, curtains and bedding added that finishing touch.
More projects are on the go, the bathroom has just a few snags to sort and there’s some carpentry jobs in the living room, so more updates to follow.
