We meet every Tuesday 10.00am to 3.00pm and other days as we grow. Well you must have heard the phrase “Men's Shed”
What is it, where is it? Well its an association started many years ago on the Australian sub-continent that has spread all over the World and now you lucky people there is a group in Stalbridge, operating from a shed at the Guggleton Farm Arts Project in Station Road. What do we do
? We meet every Tuesday 10.00am to 3.00pm, but other days will be available as the group hopefully grows. We do do a lot of talking and tea drinking, but the idea is to make idle hands and brains work now that we longer have gainful employment and would like a break from senior management but do not wish to roam the lanes and fields aimlessly. So we brain storm proposals of things that we can make, mostly from re-cycled materials such as pallets, donated timber, even salvage from skips etc.. We also look forward to our local residents bringing in broken articles for us to mend, providing we have members with the necessary skills.(we are not the “Repair Shop”) so we probably are not proficient to take on all challenges. We do have to pay rent for our Shed so therefore we do have to make a nominal charge for items that we make or repair, but for very small jobs we ask only for a donation. So people of Stalbridge and surrounding villages do pop in and see us, all are welcome, whether to talk, join our team or show us an Item that you would like to have repaired.
