"Going Green to promote a circular economy"

Handcrafted for comfort, longevity, and to be re-upholstered...

People often approach us, asking to help fix their furniture, including items purchased less than a year ago.

Whilst we only design, build new and repair antique furniture, we often feel obliged to help.

In most cases, these pieces of furniture are pretty much falling apart, and when opened, we find they are poorly constructed and not made to be re-upholstered.

Even more shocking is hearing that furniture, paid with our customers hard earned money, being made with cardboard, even cereal boxes!

Having worked in the industry for over 25 years, it leaves us saddened and angry.

When furniture is made correctly using the right materials and craft, they should last a lifetime.

We recognise the damage this has to our environment, our well-being, the financial impact and also on the industry's reputation.

Mass produced, ‘throw away’ products are what the industry has evolved into. This drives our passion to rescue the traditional processes and use natural materials that link us to our heritage.

Here's some basic advice when investing in your next furniture piece;

Where was it made?
Who was it made by?
What has it been made with?
And most importantly, how long will it last?
Can it be restored and reupholstered?

"Something old & something new" Reviving this wonderful chair that holds precious family memories was such a rewarding project.

Restored with care and attention to detail to ensure it lives another century using original traditional upholstery methods.

Antiques don't have to be set aside, unused. This beautiful chair now takes centre place and hopefully used throughout the next generation of family members 💙
