Natural materials have always felt like the right thing to do in the upholstery world. It sometimes feels like an impossible task given the cost and the nature of materials available but it's better for our health and the environment. This customer was up for the natural way so, in delight, I set about problem solving the layers needed to make it comfortable, long lasting and free from foam and fire retardant fabrics. I gave this beauty back to its owner today. It needed to be webbed properly with Pirelli webbing and the cushions needed a bespoke change. I loved that this customer was so up for working it out so that it could be webbed properly and cushioned for comfort and style. We used feather cushions and 100% wool from a favourite fabric supplier all the way up on the Isle of Bute in Scotland . The fabric is called Tiree boucle, the colour is 🍋‍🟩zest and it feels gorgeous. Also, just to note, not a single FR chemical - It's got to be right these days both for the home and the upholsterer.

I've been wanting to make blinds for the house for a while. I finally managed it this weekend using gorgeous fabric. Why go boring when you can bring so much joy with this colourful print? It is green with spots of pink, I don't know if you can see the pink? What do you think of this one for the bathroom? fibres

What's the secret to furniture that stands the test of time 🕰️? In this case it all comes down to the webbing and fixings. This chair needs rubber webbing called Pirelli, as seen on lots of Ercol furniture. The webbing fixes into grooves with metal clips that run along the front and the back. This extremely comfortable chair has been reupholstered in a fabric design inspired by Gustav Kilmt from Loome fabrics, famous artist collection. The leather that came off is worn in places but will otherwise be kept for other projects. The chair is now back home, it is a favourite reading chair with a choice of fabric that gives it a personal touch.

Sofa recovered and top stitched in Krayola leaf from We are waiting for firmer cushions but it's safely back in the customers home. Always a lot of work but always a rewarding outcome

If you love your sofa 🛋️why not consider having it recovered instead of buying new? This customer was keen to recover and was able to choose fabric that suited her style.
