Stirling Council Play Services Team Diane and Erin would like to thank all children and families who visited our Play in the Park sessions this summer, it has been a joy to spend the holidays with you!
We would like to extend a special thank you to our summer supply Playworkers as their hard work made it possible for our small team to deliver 17 Play in the Park sessions across Stirling Council. An additional warm thank you to those who joined us from the Parent and Family Support Team Stirling, Family Engagement and Stirling Youth Participation Team on days where we required support to ensure we had the necessary staff cover for the sessions to run smoothly.
Across the sessions we were visited by an estimated total of 1,620 children and 1,072 adults who were able to access a wide range of free activities. Our visitor feedback highlighted that the stone art, painting, den building and bug hunting were a big hit! At Bridge of Allan, we were also joined by Stirling Camanachd shinty club who offered free taster sessions. Many families highlighted how fantastic it was to have the opportunity to try a new sport. It has been wonderful to witness friends and families spending time together outdoors whilst connecting with new people in the community and beyond.
Play in the Park has also been a great opportunity for partnership working as on occasion we were joined by Home-Start Stirling, Stirling Council Public Transport and Scottish Childminding Association who were there to chat with families and provide information and support.
Both Diane and Erin look forward to taking on your feedback whilst planning for our 2026 Easter and Summer Play in the Park sessions. We hope to continue to welcome new and familiar faces for some more fun outdoors!
