While we’re really proud of how we make furniture, there’s also a lot of thought that goes into designing our furniture - much of it as we are making. We sketch very loosely, then make a prototype often out of softwood and make many decisions based on what it looks like, feels like and how it might fit in a space and importantly, different to everything else out there. Uniquely Twisted Eye.

So I thought I’d share some of my thought processes behind the Cityfarm farm design.

Knowing what you’re buying matters because not all wood furniture is made the same. It’s not good or bad but having information about what you’re buying can help you see through the marketing speak and buy the right thing for you.

As fine furniture makers, we’ve always believed in using hardwoods and building pieces properly so that not one part of our furniture need ever end up in landfill but are kept and cherished for a lifetime. ( and handed to the next generation) but there are lots of other versions of wood furniture too. This explains a little bit about that.

From a dirty little sketch to a growing furniture brand.
We’ve just celebrated a year since we launched the first collection and we’re pretty proud of what we’ve achieved so far. We’re currently working on new designs and continuing to build our profile to drive Twisted forward. Thanks so much for all your support. It means more than we can say. ❤️

We think it really looks the part in this beautiful home and centre for heritage learning. ❤️

We make serious furniture… but we play with colour, proportion, finishes and interesting details.
This keeps the craft serious but stops it being predictable.
Made in our workshop in Gloucestershire by trained cabinet makers using sustainable hardwood, traditional joinery and time-tested methods.
We work with premium materials and make each piece the way it should be if it’s going to last - we just add a bit more attitude than usual.
