We’ve recently funded Assisting Berkshire Children to Read (ABC to read), allowing them to continue their literacy project in primary schools across the South East. 📖

One child living in an Abri home improved their reading age by more than 12 months after working with a volunteer twice a week. Their teacher reported a significant improvement in both reading ability and confidence and the child now volunteers to read aloud in class and takes books home to share with family.

At Abri, we’re all about making a difference in the local community and this project helps children to build confidence, develop their reading skills and enjoy learning.

More affordable homes are coming to Bristol. 🏡

We've expanded our investment at The Fosseway in Hengrove, securing all 130 homes in Phase One so the development will be delivered as 100% affordable housing.

The homes will include:
• 70% for social rent, with rents typically around 50% lower than market rates.
• 30% for shared ownership, helping more local people take their first steps onto the property ladder.
• Energy-efficient features including solar panels and air source heat pumps, helping residents reduce their carbon footprint and potentially save money on energy bills.
• A mix of apartments and family homes designed to meet a wide range of housing needs across Bristol.
• The first homes are already being completed, bringing much-needed affordable housing to local people sooner.

Together with a planned second phase of 70 affordable extra care homes, The Fosseway will deliver 200 affordable homes for local people, creating a thriving multi-generational community for families, first-time buyers and older residents.

More affordable homes are on their way to the south west! 🏡

We’re working with Vistry Group, to deliver 314 homes across Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Somerset. The homes will be delivered across three developments.

• 130 homes at The Fosseway, Hengrove, South Bristol
• 114 homes at Locking Parklands, Weston-super-Mare
• 70 homes at Manor Farm, Templecombe, Somerset

With a mix of social rent and shared ownership, the new homes will help meet local housing needs and give more people the opportunity to find a safe, secure and affordable place to call home.

This partnership also supports our ambition to deliver 20,000 homes by 2036, helping create communities where people can thrive.

We recently held a ‘Clear out your clutter’ event for the residents at The Granges in Windsor. The day was designed for residents to start getting rid of any unwanted items in preparation for moving into their new homes from February 2027. 🗑️

Together, we helped residents to empty households and sheds, and a van was filled with a multitude of unwanted items!

The Granges regeneration project is about supporting the community as well as building new homes. The day was funded through the Social Value Procurement programme by Travis Perkins and delivered by Waste Management Services on the day, so a big thank you! 💙
