With over 45 years of experience in the trade, we specialise in crafting high-quality, custom-

made furniture and joinery projects. Our team consists of three highly skilled craftsmen who are passionate about turning your ideas into a beautifully crafted reality. Our journey began decades ago when I started my career as an apprentice in the naval shipbuilding industry at Vosper Thornycroft in Woolston. Since then, I’ve spent 40 years as a self-employed joiner, following in the footsteps of my late father. I hold a full City & Guilds qualification, completed a Level 5 Site Managers course and even earned an NHBC Silver Award for a stunning oak-framed house project! Make Wood Work specialises in creating bespoke media units, media walls and custom-designed furniture, including large dining tables and beautifully crafted panelled walls. Every project is tailored to meet our clients’ needs, from design and dimensions to style and finish. They think bespoke cabinetry is just about storage or filling a space.

But the projects that really stand out are the ones where every little detail has been carefully considered, from the proportions and shelving layouts to the finishes and the way everything works together to create something completely unique.

You’ve probably seen a lot of our media units with these features on our page, but we specialise in all types of bespoke cabinetry, including projects like this one.

This stunning build was crafted around a beautiful Italian glass artwork in a home near Brighton🏡 Every element of the unit was carefully considered, from the integrated lighting to the precise installation of the artwork itself. A real showcase of craftsmanship, creativity and custom design 🙌🏻

Honestly, we’re still amazed by this project and it somehow looks even more stunning every time we reflect back on it.

WARNING ⚠️ Once you go bespoke, there’s no going back.

We’ve had so many new enquiries for bespoke projects recently, so we thought it would be the perfect time to start resharing some of our favourite past builds for anyone looking for inspiration.

Starting with this stunning L-shaped built-in seating project⭐️

Packed with clever custom features, this build included storage drawers beneath the seating, lift-out panels, a made-to-measure trophy shelf, hidden sockets and even a cut-out plinth for a robot vacuum and docking station🏆🔌

The cabinetry was also designed to flow into a future wine chiller setup, whilst the seating depth and height were carefully tailored to make sure it felt just right🙌🏻

That’s the beauty of bespoke joinery. It’s not just made to measure, it’s made around you, your lifestyle and the way you actually use your home. From layouts and storage solutions to colours, finishes and design features, everything is fully customised and we absolutely love how this one turned out.

Media units are one of our most popular builds and we’re not surprised👀🤩

They turn an empty or underused wall into something that actually works, whilst becoming a real focal point in the room.

Each one is designed around the space and how you use it day to day, combining TV units, storage, shelving, fireplaces and lighting into one seamless setup.

What really sets our builds apart is that they’re fully modular. Instead of being fixed studwork, they’re made in sections using traditional joinery methods. That means they can be reconfigured, adapted, or even taken with you if you move, making them built to last, not just built for one space.

We include everything from shaker doors and soft-close drawers to custom shelving, feature panelling and integrated lighting, all spray finished in-house with a durable, high-quality lacquer for a smooth, long-lasting finish.

Standard wardrobes never quite get it right👀 So we built these to fit perfectly instead✅

A fully bespoke pair, made to measure with full height soft close doors for that clean, seamless look.

One side fitted with 3 soft open / soft close drawers, the other set up for double hanging; keeping it simple, practical and built around how it’ll actually be used.

🪵 All made using quality birch ply and fully sprayed inside and out, so the finish is spot on everywhere you look.

📏 1000mm wide
📏 2400mm high
📏 600mm deep

These wardrobes were built around the space, not forced into it and that’s what makes all the difference🙌🏻
