I simply love everything antique & vintage from days gone by; coupled with my creative and artistic flair & lifelong interest in interior design, I have set sail aboard Alternative Vintage! Seeking out treasures and bringing them back to their former glory or enhancing each piece of furniture with a unique transformation is my passion. I specialise in hand painting, stencilling, french polishing,

decoupage, gilding, chalk finishes, gloss/satin/matt finishes and will always add a little twist of imagination to each item.

Just completed a lovely Bedroom suite renovation. My client wanted a fresh clean look to lighten the room, so the colour shortbread by Rustoleum was used to give a new lease of life to the furniture. Back home from an amazing holiday with my beautiful family. Had a day of rest at home yesterday & now 'back in the driving seat' starting with this gorgeous antique swivel chair.... step 1: Removal of existing fabric to reveal what lays beneath......some further preparation work today on the fillings before re-upholstery ( can't wait to see the fabric that my client has chosen) ❤️.....to be continued

This beautiful huge (well over 6 foot & very heavy) oak table has been a joy to renovate for my lovely clients', who have a very unique taste. The table was stripped, sanded & stained with a dark oak finish to the top. The ornately detailed base sides & legs were given an ebonized finish & a heavy iron 'ball & chain' was attached to one side & finished with 2 fab quirky gargoyles at each end. Some of the detailed decor was missing, so these were carved, colour matched & fixed in place to complete the look. Thank you for allowing me to carry out this work for you ❤️

Just completed a niice little re-cover using this fabulous tapestry fabric that has given this cute Vintage chair a new lease of life ❤️ Also some fab Beautility chair bases had a nice bright green boucle fabric applied & a pair of vinyl seat base's have been spruced up with a lovely black sheen finish fabric. Just delivered these 2 leather chair & footstool sets to my lovely client. All pieces had discololoured & had oxidised to a yellow finish. They have been carefully cleaned, conditioned, re-coloured & treated to a leather finish for protection. The chairs are really special to my client, so I took very good care of them. Please see the before & after photos ❤
