BIRTLEY BRIDGES - TEMPORARY SCAFFOLD BRIDGE

To ensure we can keep the towpath / Downslink circular walk open while the new bridge superstructures are installed, a temporary scaffold bridge has been erected at Birtley 1. A big thank you to Mid Sussex Scaffolding who carried out work.

The temporary bridge will need to be in place until the end of July and will allow us to remove the deck from Birtley bridge 1 and prepare the abutments to accept the new lift bridge structure.

We hope the locals from Bramley and Shamley Green can continue to enjoy this beautiful walk while we complete the two Birtley bridges.
