Hello, I’m Nicholas Hill, a furniture conserver and restorer. I believe every piece deserves thoughtful care and respect, so its unique story can be preserved and appreciated for generations to come.

I am happiest surrounded by beautiful furniture, whether it’s a sun-faded table or a gilt mirror that has lost its sparkle. I grew up in the antiques world, learning from generations before me how to revive the subtle beauty of each piece.

My work takes me everywhere: from elegant townhouses in London to estates in Scotland, lovely homes from Cornwall to Kent and occasionally abroad. No piece is too big or too small, no job too far if it means helping something loved last longer.

I offer a unique, personal service. No workshop, no long waits. I come to you, wherever you are, and work quietly with little fuss, to remove watermarks, fix veneers, banish those upsetting scratches, and bring your furniture back to its former glory. My passion is preserving, not over-restoring, because the best history is found in the patina.

The conservation and restoration work is carried out highly efficiently, creating very little mess and to an excellent standard. I can usually finish an average 4 to 6 pieces of furniture in a day, sometimes many more, especially Victorian, Edwardian, and decorative pieces. Considering this, my work is excellent value compared to having to take it to a Workshop.
