I remember being a confident child but a less confident teen. As an adult there were some situations I was totally happy and confident in e.g. standing in front of a room full of people and telling them to do a grapevine - on the beat and phrase with a smile on my face, bend your knees, stand up tall, shoulders down...
Or travelling around Italy on my own, before the internet was any use, mobile phones were a house brick and google translate wasn't a thing (them were the days…)
But there were plenty of situations I was less confident in. Job interviews, making new friends, conflict or confrontation.
Now as a 42 year old I feel like my confidence is growing even more. Possibly because I give less of a s**t about stuff than I used to 😆
I think my teen self would be looking forward to being me now if she knew what I'd get myself up to in the interim years.
I'd like to know what other people think of confidence. The questionnaire is totally anonymous (although if you have more to share or want to know what I'm up to feel free to leave your deets).

Fears, phobias, anxieties and stress.

STOP HACKING YOUR LIFE

Here’s a hot take: doing anything well is fu***ng hard. Mastery? Only a rare few are willing to give what that ordeal takes.

If you have a passion—if you aspire to elevate your life—if you want to see what you are truly made of, or just how far you can go and what you are truly capable of, please dispense with short cuts. Forget the hack.

Instead, commit. Invite the daily pressure that compels invisible progress over time. Embrace the anonymity of doing hard things in the dark when nobody is watching.

Wake up before dawn and apply yourself silently. Practice your craft—in whatever shape or form that may be—late into the evening with relentless rigor.

Welcome the fear and walk through it courageously.

Let go of perfection. Allow yourself to fail. Welcome the obstacles. Forget the results. Ignore the competition.

Give yourself over to your passion with every fiber of who you are. And live out the rest of your days trying to do better.

I can’t promise that you will succeed in the way our culture inappropriately defines the term. But I can absolutely guarantee that you will become deeply acquainted with who you truly are. You will touch and exude passion. Discover purpose—and what it means to be truly alive.

Want to learn a new habit? Practice is all you need. Mental rehearsal/practice works well too.

If you want to learn something new spend 5 mins per day visualising it, get really clear on what you want, smell the smells, see the colours, feel the feels, hear the sounds.

I'm looking for 6 women who want to improve their confidence and courage.

I am a confident person but I haven't always been that way. There's no sob story here, I just made a decision that in order to live the life I REALLY wanted to live I needed to start to open my mouth, take risks and be more confident and courageous.

If I can do it, anyone can and I would like to help.

I have studied NLP (how we speak can change our behaviour) and hypnotherapy, as well as general human behaviour and I would like an opportunity use my skills to help other people.

Of course there's an element of selfishness in there - I want to try my methods on other people for my own success. My main hope is that you will be able to make positive choices about your life and feel like you are in the driving seat and not in the passenger seat.

There are so many women that play down their skills, personality and strengths because they fear being called 'full of yourself'. According to Oprah being full of yourself is the best way to be. Who else are you going to be full of?! If you're not full of yourself you're living a life for someone else.
