The Business was started some 12 years ago by Paul Mitchell, Who took on a franchise covering the Derbyshire area it was under a different name then but provided a much needed Furniture repair and restoration service to many of the large furniture chains and related businesses. Insurance companies and commercial clients who needed th
e services of a professional and reliable furniture repairer and restorer to trouble shoot any furniture problems they had. This could be anything from fixing a new piece of furniture just delivered that had a scratch or dent to fixing a fault under warranty or restoring flood and fire damaged furniture for the insurance companies. This also included leather furniture that had to be restored or repaired to new condition that included scuffs, scratches, stitching coming undone, broken springs or framework repairs. This all had to be done in the customers house with little or no disruption to them. As more insurance work was undertaken then the level of work undertaken was extended to include full restoration work on Modern as well as Antique furniture
French polishing, oil and wax finishes, spray finishing with hard wearing heat resistant finishes, colour matching, re veneering and various paint finishes. A more in-depth service was also offered for leather upholstery including colour matching, invisible repairs, stiching work, and re padding. As the business grew rapidly by recommendation and word of mouth the service was expanded to include private clients, we expanded into a large commercial workshop with additional staff and a second van. As the business continued to grow from private clients for the repair and restoration work to wood and leather furniture, I decided to discontinue the franchise and concentrate on private clients and a select few commercial clients.
