In true style, I completely forgot to share my most recent project on here.

For sale is this Vintage Mid-Century Danish teak coffee table, circa 1960's with a hand-painted black and gold zigzag tape design.

When I got this table, it was a mess. Watermarks and cup rings everywhere. I sanded it down, taped up the pattern, painted, teak oiled and then waxed and buffed. I'm pretty happy with it and I love the tapered legs.

Excellent condition. There are some small scuffs to the veneer around the sides (pictured) and a few small marks in the grain. These are barely noticeable, and understandable given its age.

Height: 34.5cm

MCM Mid-Century two-tier floral carved coffee table

It has been refurbished, completely cleaned and sanded back, with a new stain applied. There are some scuffs and chips (examples pictured) but these are barely noticeable, and understandable given its age.

The top is unique and has been carved into floral patterns. It is raised, allowing you (if you wanted) to do a lino print or rubbing of the pattern.

Even with the pattern carved in, it is still level and perfect as a functional, two-tier coffee table.

A personal project: I wanted a narrow side table that offered hidden storage for the side of our sofa.

I got this mag rack from an auction for £1. I trimmed some wood from the base, cleaned it up, sanded it down, asked a friend to router the sides to make it have a bit of something instead of just plain sides (thanks Karl ) then I painted it in Frenchic Salt of the Earth and beeswaxed to protect it. I frogtape patterned the top then added tiny castors to the base so it could roll out easy.

Throwback to this beautiful mid-century nest of tables that I revitalised and sold earlier this year. These were HEAVY. Original solid teak wood with tiled tops, the tiles were dated so I updated them and resealed with silicone sealant and teak oil.

I do love a good nest of tables to refurbish.

This is the wardrobe I refurbished for my son as his clothes grew, so did the space we need to store them all.

The last 5 pictures show what it was like before and during my work on it.

It was a mess. Filthy, covered in cobwebs, spray paint, it had a drawer handle missing, needed filler in areas, as well as removal of the hideous metal mesh door inserts.

Cost breakdown:
Wardrobe: £5
Rail and fixings: £8
Big top drawer handle: £15
Panels: £16
Paint, varnish, gold gilding wax (used on metal hardware such as hinges) and wax: free from previous projects
Hippo handle: free from my childhood wardrobe

Though this piece is not currently for sale, it's important to share that I don't just work on projects to sell, but make and keep quite a lot for my own use.

I'm really happy with it, it's functional, clean and suits my little boys room to a T.

Furniture restoration isn't just about slapping some paint and new hardware on an item and calling it a day.

It's about looking at a piece and wanting to get the best out of it to give it a new life.

Whether that involves paint, varnishing, re-waxing or just giving it a good clean and oil, restoration is breathing life into furniture that is otherwise unloved, forgotten about or even destined for landfill.
