This is my friend Sarie.
Sarie is fu***ng amazing.
One of the warmest, funniest and cleverest people that I know. She used to be a therapist but these days she’s more of a coach. Teaching people how to cope with and overcome anxiety. She does this work: helping people because she suffered crippling anxiety herself for years. Sarie will even tell you that she was even hospitalised for a month as a result of her anxiety.
Sarie was my therapist for years as she’s a trained psychotherapist but one day I went on a course that she presented in a draughty hall in West Sale. The course was a brief introduction to the three principles. Basically, she taught a room full of people (me included) why we overthink and how (with some simple techniques) to not go there. It was mind blowing (well- as mind blowing as something can be in the Sale West Community centre)
I’m fifty-one years old next week. Peri-menopausal. I’d like to think that I’ve got it all sorted out (have I F**k), but I’m like anybody else, I need to constantly work at things. Tweak things remember to do stuff that I know that I need to do like exercise and not drink too much. Look at things in a different light. Because things are constantly shifting.
Sometimes I remember how not to overthink and catastrophise and sometimes I forget and do it anyway. That’s because I’m a dick.
I’m on HRT. I’ve got the lot including testosterone. I run…Try to eat well but then f**k up and eat a whole loaf of Soreen with half a pound of butter on followed by a Pizza.
Sarie has produced a three-day on-line course for peri and post-menopausal women along with Dr Annice Mukherjee who is a Consultant Endocrinologist and author of ‘The Complete Guide to the Menopause’
The course covers all things Hormones, Anxiety and Overwhelm.
I’m doing the course because I need a reminder on how to look after myself but also because I love my friend and her content is ace.
