Thrilled to have David Dunk complete the hedgelaying to our very gappy and overgrown hazel and hornbeam woodland hedge today. This is a very skilled traditional country craft for which David has won awards. We are delighted to have been able to this with a generous grant from The Sussex Lund and help from The High Weald AONB, and recommendation by the South of England Hedgelaying Society. The gaps in will soon be planted up with a mix of blackthorn, spindle, field maple, hawthorn, guelder rose to add diversity. We hope this will be a wildlife haven for years to come! A few quick before and after pictures below.
