At 35 weeks pregnant with my first, I'd got everything set up and felt ready. But looking back, I was nowhere near.

In reality, the things that really could have made a difference to how smoothly things went for me weren't on the standard baby prep list.

Yes, I'd thought about the crib, the bouncer, the pram.

What I hadn't thought about was:
my body
my recovery
my support network
my mindset
my pelvic floor
my mum community

My first birth and postpartum would have been transformed if I'd have known to even think about these in advance.

Who knows how good it would have been if I'd known about the people or organisations who could help me when I needed them.

In short, the challenges I faced were avoidable.

As a doula, that makes me mad.

Which is why I've created 'The Bumo & Baby Booster'ch checklist, the birth-prep checklist that focuses on the needs of the mums, not just the baby.

It's free and it's game-changing.
Why? Because you don't deserve to struggle like I did.

I hope it helps,

A positive, confident and strong birth experience happens when you feel that way.

That doesn't come out of thin air.
It comes from a place of trust and unwavering support.
Providing that is what I do best.

The families who choose me to support them, do so because they want to do this their way.

They want NHS support.
They want the help of doctors and midwives.
But they don't want to lose control of their journey.

That's where I come in.

Whether it's a 60-minute power hour or a full year of 1:1 support, my mission is to give my families whatever it is they need to create a birth & baby journey that they feel proud of.

Sound good? Check out my doula packages and power hours on my website (link in bio)

Traditional antenatal classes prepare you for what's going to happen; I prepare you to do it your way.

By delivering a course designed around you.
With the time and space for real questions.
On a 1:1 basis in your home.

Whether it's your first or your fifth, experience has taught me that this really is the best way to prepare for birth.

Why? Because it's not about the masses.
It's about you.

And when we do that, we have the time, the space and the opportunity to tackle your fears and your uncertainties, and build the confidence and control that you deserve.

You're not meant to do this alone, which is why these spaces exist.

Since 2023, I've created social spaces for the pregnant & postpartum people of Cornwall to come together, chat and build the friendships that make a difference.

Laughter to lighten the moment.
Chat to create confidence.
Solidarity that builds strength.

🤰BUMP CLUB:
A free to attend monthly coffee date at in Redruth, welcoming all pregnant people at every stage of the journey.

🤱THE NEST:
Not a baby group: this warm & welcoming space is for you to chat, laugh and build friendships with other new mums who know what it's like to be you.

Spaces are limited to keep the vibes right on all events, so booking is essential.

Grab your spaces here: www.borntobirthcorwall.co.uk (links in bio)

You deserve clear, reliable answers. Google & AI won't give you that, but I will.

Not just my doula families. Not just my antenatal clients.
Everyone who comes to me in person.

That makes me a very busy person, so why do I do it?
Because having information you can trust and rely on, builds your confidence and helps you make decisions without fear, that put you & your priorities first.

Honestly, this means the world to me.

So - while it creates a hell of a lot more 'pings' on my phone - I make sure that however you've come to me, you have continuous and reliable ways to answer the questions you have sitting in your head.

Through the Telegram group.
Through our Whatsapp spaces.
Through our 1:1 chats.

At the end of the day, I am here to make birth better for as many people as I can.
This is the starting point for how I do that.

Trust goes hand in hand with positive birth; where you'll find it is what birth plans are about.

Some find it in numbers, others do not.
Some find it in themselves, others do not.
Some find it in me - and that's why they ask me to be their doula.

But wherever you find that feeling of trust, hold onto it and prioritise it above all other things in your pregnancy and birth space.

It'll help the oxytocin flow.
Your body relax.
Your milk to come in.

That's why trust matters and it's where your birth plan should start.

If you think I can help with any of that, DM me. We'll chat.

Pregnant? Looking for mum mates? This one's for you...

Pregnancy is best done in company; Bump Club makes that happen.

Since 2023, Bump Club has been the place that Cornwall's mums-to-be come purely to make friends. And it's magic.

Just a Saturday morning coffee date.
Relaxed vibes.
Happy chatter.
Zero pressure.

And trust me, in three years there's never been an awkward silence yet. You're all here for the same reason: to talk, to share and to find friends. The common ground of pregnancy and birth-prep breaks the ice, and then the rest... well it just happens.

I mean, look at them. Does that look awkward to you?

Bump Club is free to attend (just pay for your order) and meets on the first Saturday of every month: our next social is Saturday 6th June at Buttermarket in Redruth.

Fancy joining us?

We welcome all pregnant folk to our table, whether you're 2, 22 or 42 weeks in, we'd love to meet you. Spaces are limited so booking is essential.

Grab your seat at the table here: www.borntobirthcornwall.co.uk/bump-club-cornwall

Every week, 'The Nest' reminds me just how much new mums need this.

The time to talk.
The space to breathe.
The place to find their mum mates.
The support that makes it all a bit easier.

Today's mat quickly filled with the kind of chatter, laughter and questions that tells me that things are going well. I don't need to do the ice-breakers here - these guys have got it sorted.

And more often than not, that's what happens.
Because everyone comes here for those same reasons I mentioned above.

Not for the puppets or the bubbles, but for the real connection and community that helps to turn the chaos of newborn life into something more stable.

The chat ranged from feeding issues and biting to mum-guilt and rage, from the heat to biscuits, all heard and held by a group who were happy to see one another.

Even though they were strangers.
But - for reference - they're not now.

If that sounds like your vibe, we'd love to meet you. We welcome babies from birth to just about crawling to our weekly Thursday session at The Family Space in Truro.

Limited spaces left for June - booking is essential. Grab your ticket here:

📍The Family Space, Threemilestone
📅 Every Thursday at 1pm
🤱 Babies from birth to just about crawling
💰 £9 per adult (hot drink & flapjack included). Discount for bulk booking available.

It's time to talk about money & no it's not as scary as you think.

Yes, there are doulas that serve millionaires. Of course there are.
I am not one of them (that I'm aware of!)

There are two things that make my client base exceptional.
It's got nothing to do with their...

Normal shopping habits (Tescos for the week, M&S picky bits for a treat)
Normal jobs working in normal places.
Normal houses on normal estates.
Normal holidays in normal places.

No, the families I work with on a 1:1 basis are exceptional for two reasons:
- they have excellent personalities (without fail)
- they want something better than the standard experience when it comes to the birth of their baby.

Their normal lives create normal budgets and most will pay for the level of support (which FYI often costs less than a brand new pram) they want with:

- flexible monthly payment plans
- the support of their family
- portions of a savings pot

Not because they're flashy or Scrooge McDuck swimming in coin, but because they know that they need more than what's currently available on the NHS to feel confident and calm giving birth.

And they know that the person to give them that is me.
So we work something out.

Want to talk about money? DM me - I'm not shy. We'll arrange a FREE discovery call to chat about what you want, what I can give you, and a budget that makes it work for everyone.
