Creating usable space where there barely was any.
This was possibly one of our biggest challenges to date, making every millimetre count in this narrow corridor while still creating practical shoe and coat storage.
The alcoves and returns we had to work around were less than 300mm deep. For the coat storage, that was not too much of an issue as we could incorporate hooks and shelving.
The tall shoe storage unit by the window, however, was a completely different story! We had to calculate the precise angle of every shelf to make sure the client’s shoe size would fit comfortably, without the shelves being so steep that everything would slide straight back out again.
This whole process might have been slightly easier had I not once argued with my maths teacher that: “Trigonometry is pointless.” “What am I ever going to need this for in real life?” 😂🤦
The finishes, and overall project direction were expertly managed by , helping transform this challenging space into something which is both practical and luxurious.
