Today we had our annual licencing Inspection, and we passed with lots of compliments and not a single criticism or request to change anything 😊

Everything we do here is centred around animal welfare and inspiring children to establish a connection with nature. When you book us for one of our educational wildlife presentations, you can rest assured that our habitats, risk assessments, safety and welfare protocols have all been assessed and approved by qualified inspectors.

This is shaping up to be one of our busiest years ever, thank you to all the schools, youth groups and private bookings we have took so far!

Today we are (almost) as happy as Pebbles the tortoise enjoying the return of the sun, as well as his favourite treat - dandelion flowers 🌼

Introducing Joe, the bearded dragon!

Joe was rehomed to us a few weeks ago. He came from a really lovely family who gave him a great life. He's settling in great and we love having him around 😄🦎

Hey folks! We've had a huge influx of new followers over the past week, so I thought I'd do a little post listing some of the services we can offer you! Tales of the Wild is an exotic animal sanctuary based in Northern Ireland. We offer interactive, educational workshops where you can meet some of our animals in your school, venue, or comfort of your own home. Through our hands on experiences we hope to inspire the next generation to understand their connection to nature, and all proceeds go towards the running of our centre - we couldn't do this without you!

🤓 School visits - From Primary 1, all the way up to Upper 6th. Whether you're just looking for a treat for the kids or your class has a nature related topic coming up (such as minibeasts, pets, rainforest or classification) then we have a workshop that will fit your needs.

👶 Playgroups - Kids are never too young to learn about animals and establish a connection to nature!

🎉 Birthday parties - If your child is a young version of Steve Irwin or Jane Goodall, then what better way to celebrate their birthday than getting to meet, learn about, and interact with a huge range of exciting animals. And age is no issue, we do a surprising amount of adult's birthday parties too!

👵🧓 - Nursing homes/Care homes - These are always one of our favourite and most rewarding sessions to provide. The residents love meeting our animals, and it gives them an opportunity to act like a big kid again!

🤠 Youth groups - From scouts, BB, GB, forests schools, after schools clubs or groups for children (or adults) with additional needs, we can provide a unique, hands on and interactive experience that they will never forget.

💥 Events - From open days to weddings and everything in between, we can set up a static interactive exhibit for your guests to meet and learn about the animals in our care.

🐢 Private encounters - You don't need to have an excuse or reason to meet our animals, if you're just a group of friends or family and would like a visit from some of our furry or scaly friends in your own home we would be happy to do that for you! Affordable prices for small groups.

*Please note, the welfare of our animals will always come first no matter what service we are providing. You must provide a calm, quiet, warm and controlled environment where everyone can be comfortable. Looking forward to seeing you all!

Had an emergency call out today from a panicked home owner who believed they had spotted a snake in their garden... I always find these calls a little exciting as I never know what it's going to be till I turn up. I was fairly disappointed that this one was a false alarm, but the owner of the home was quite relieved 😅

What a lovely morning visiting my Godson's school 😊

We provide educational, interactive workshops that can cover any nature related topic in the school curriculum. I have seen time and time again how getting to learn in this hands on way helps kids to connect to and care about the subject they are learning. It's that time of year folks - time to launch our hugely popular Christmas voucher experience! 🎉🎄🦜🦨🦔🐧🐍🎄🎉

This is the perfect gift for any animal lover in your life, and is suitable for a friend, partner, parent or child.

Here's how it works! After you purchase your voucher, we will send it out this month in time for you to gift to your loved one. Then you can contact us to arrange a date for your experience, our vouchers don't expire so you can use them at any time!

The experience entails a 90 minute session, held in your own home, where you will get to meet, learn about and interact with a wide range of the animals we are blessed to share our lives with here at Tales of the Wild.

We always let the animals decide on the day that they definitely want to come, but some of the ones you are likely to meet with this experience are:

Sheldon the three-banded armadillo 🐾
Lily the skunk 🦨
Barney the boa constrictor 🐍
Littlefoot the tortoise 🐢
Conkers the hedgehog 🦔
Bulbasaur the bullfrog 🐸
Benji the meerkat 🐻

The price of our Christmas vouchers are £85 (and depending on your location there may be a small travel charge, but we try to keep things as affordable as possible!) And are suitable for a small group. We don't like to put a number limit on how many people can be part of the session, but this experience is for a small group of immediate family or friends. As with all of our sessions, the welfare and comfort of our animals is the number one priority at all times, so we will need a calm, warm and controlled environment to make sure everyone has a good time :)

If you have any questions or would like to order a voucher please get in touch! We also do have some very limited availability over the Christmas holidays, so it may be possible to book this experience while you have the whole family together, but make sure you book early if you would prefer that option!

We had an amazing morning at DH Christie school today for one of our very popular minibeast workshops! The kids got to meet, interact with, and learn about some amazing minibeasts from around the world, such as our gorgeous pair of jungle nymphs!

The kids were super brave and got to learn about why minibeasts are so important for our ecosystem. This is always one of my favourite topics to teach about! If you'd be interested in having us come to your school please get in touch, we cover every nature related topic in the curriculum and help kids learn about conservation in an interactive way that they will never forget!

We had a fantastic morning at Causeway Roots Forest School yesterday teaching the kids about nature :) this is a really exciting new project for the North Coast, I look forward to working with them again!
