This week’s project… definitely not a small one.
First step is to dig in with the wheel of death and cut out all the rust so we know what we’re really dealing with. Once the rotten metal is gone we can start rebuilding it properly.

This old Mercedes camper has rust in all the usual places...cab corners, floor sections, arches and steps, but there’s still plenty worth saving. These are the sort of jobs that take time, patience and a lot of custom fabrication work, but bringing something like this back from the brink is what we enjoy most.
New metal going in soon 🤙

We made up some gate posts to match a set of lovely handmade gates. We concreted in the new posts and hung the gates, all finished in a nice coat of black.
We may specialise in automotive metalwork but we can turn our hand to most fabrication jobs.

We’ve got a soft spot for VW campers here at Fusion Welding UK 🤙

We've kicked off one of our longer-term projects that rolled into the workshop recently. What started as some work on the front chassis legs quickly turned into something bigger… once Toby Lee got stuck in, we uncovered a completely rotten left inner sill.

The upside? This 90s German steel still welds really nice so it’s getting the attention it deserves!
