“A lifetime ago”
A little over 18 months has passed since we departed to traverse the planets third largest island Borneo.
This is one of the last photos took on our borrowed digital camera (sorry Steve )before we sailed the raft you see in the picture out of the the Muller Schwaner mountain range and into the Dayak heartlands of West Kalimantan.
It was a journey that simultaneously proved both our naivety and resilience in conquering what at times seemed in-achievable. No other humans in history have traversed the planets 5 largest islands and as we prepare to face our biggest challenge yet, we will draw upon the lessons learnt all that time ago, when surrounded by jungle, deep in the heart of blackness, the prospect of leaving Kalimantan with our lives seemed like an unlikely prospect.
