Our Monday was certainly not mundane. We had a fantastic day up at Fishers Cooperage getting barrels! Managed to have a wander round in between the torrential downpours.

Fishers is a family run cooperage in Glasgow’s East End. Just across from the historic Glasgow Forge (and shopping centre of the same name) we only get our casks from them.

A proper old school cooperage, these guys work tirelessly to make and repair the best oak out there.

Busy busy busy at the final weekend of largs_viking_festival! Come along to the makers market to see some lovely handmade soaps, jewellery, meads, candles, Viking accessories, paintings, baklava, and of course, oak…

For the kids, the fun fair is on along the promenade. There is live music and a food court too!

We couldn’t have managed without the lovely teas and coffees from the wonderful team at nardinis_cafe in Largs. Some of the nicest folk going- and honestly the best ice cream in the west.

The sun is coming down, the tent is starting to heat up… as always, come touch our wood.

A big thank you to everyone who came down to our soft opening… we are now hard and open.

Largs is looking stunning on the opening Sunday of the largs_viking_festival!

Come down to see the Vikings, the fun fair, the live music, sample some lovely foods. We have our wood out on show as always- come touch our wood.

Introducing Kev (the cat) showing off his favourite seat in the house, Ailsa (the chair).

Carved from a famous grouse cask, Ailsa is upholstered in stunning herringbone Harris Tweed. The first of her kind, she is a perfect chill chair- Kev agrees.

Ailsa will be joined by her show chair sisters at this years Largs Viking Festival. The show looks fantastic, with food and drink, makers and crafters, and live music too!

This year’s festival runs from Saturday the 30th of August through to Sunday the 7th of September 10am-6pm.

There is a soft launch for the market this year…If you want to see our soft opening, we will be there on Friday from 1pm until dark- no, really.

Guess who’s back, back again?

Yes it’s us! Tell a friend.

For this weekend only, we will be heading to Glasgow’s historic fish market, The Briggait, for waspsstudios summer artists and makers market.

Held in the 1873 hall, this is one of Glasgow’s best markets, with hundreds of artists and creatives from the whole of Scotland. Unlike a lot of markets, the wasps team really do vet every applicant- we are incredibly proud to have been picked, and of course, have imposter syndrome.

Opening on Friday night at 5pm (till 9pm) with free champagne for the first 100 people, the market is also open Saturday and Sunday 11am-5pm (but no free champagne).

We will have our wood on show, a chair or two, and bags of bits- all for your oaky enjoyment.

Taps aff, champagne out…

Today we packed off our last corporate orders. 8 of our beautiful chairs and 2 drinks cabinets (as a van full of gifts and favours) are heading to The Gin Bothy!

Each chair carved to uniquely sit in the new building- we couldn’t be prouder of the guys for getting this done! These are my favourite chairs- I say it every time, but ooft- check them out by visiting the new distillery!

We will be retuning to markets later this month. Our wholesale market has now closed- we will continue to service our corporate customers- we just aren’t looking for any more…

So, now, to my men… I hope you have your glasses charged… To Our Team! Pride is a weird emotion- but they fill me with it. Thank you.

With spring in full fling, we are out of the workshop and heading to the fabulous waspsstudios Spring Clean Market held at The Briggait.

We will be showcasing our Galaxy Suite of Cassiopeia and Andromeda with their tile coffee table, alongside our beautifully smooth oak favours. This is also a chance to stock up on some barrel offcuts for smokers and log burners!

Free entry all weekend, this market is a collection of makers, crafters, jewellers, ceramicists, artists and more! Opening hours are 11am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.

All smiles at this years Scotland's Trade Fairs held at the SEC! Over 1000 makers and crafters from across the country, all under one roof!

This year we are unveiling our beautiful new Tulip Chair and our Galaxy Table- yes, they are better in the flesh.

This is our only trade even this year, it runs from the 930 am today until 5pm on the 21st! Stand C30 for your best oaky goodies!

That’s us done for another year! A huge thank you to all our customer who have kept our lights on this year, we will be back in January, but now we really must rest.

With the freezing fog covering the workshop, we have decided to preserve our fingertips and close until it lifts.

We are busily (and warmly) sanding and oiling some lovely oak gifts for our final Christmas market of the year! Come and see us at The Merchant Square 11am-5pm on the 14th and 15th of December!

In the meantime, have a look at our latest Selkie chairs; Mnemosyne, Callisto, and Alexander Helios. Sized to fit exactly, these beauties have a secret storage compartment under the Harris Tweed base.
