We’re heading away today for a week, and our lovely friends will be looking after the fields for us while we’re gone.

Could we please ask everyone to help them out by making sure you pick up after your dogs, as we’ve had a few instances recently where mess has been left behind.

Also, with the high temperatures forecast, it would be sensible to bring water with you, as the butts may not be topped up as regularly as usual.

I’ll only be contactable for emergencies while we’re away, so any non-urgent messages may not be picked up until we return.

Lately, we’ve found several cigarette tab ends on the fields and in the bins. These pose a danger to dogs if ingested.

The temperatures are looking to be high over the next few days, if anyone wishes to reschedule then please let me know.

Hot pavement can seriously burn your dog’s paws. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet. 🐾☀️

On warm days:
• Walk early morning or late evening
• Stick to grass and shaded areas
• Bring water for your dog
• Watch for signs of overheating like heavy panting or slowing down

Dogs rely on us to keep them safe in the heat. A short cooler walk is always better than risking heatstroke. ❤️

Due to the rain we’ve had over the last few days, the ground has softened enough for us to aerate it and put some seed down.

We’ve also added some topsoil over the newly seeded bald patches to help protect the seed from the resident birds.

Rescheduling Slots

Lately, we’ve been receiving a high number of last-minute requests to reschedule slots. As stated in our T&Cs, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. We do try to be flexible where possible, especially in exceptional circumstances such as heavy rain making the field too muddy during the winter months.

However, short-notice cancellations and reschedules leave us with very little time to re-advertise and refill the slot, which means we lose out financially.

Could you please make sure the taps on the water butts are turned off properly after use. The one in the Chill Field appears to have been left on at some point today, and we’ve just had to refill it with 70 litres of water.

If we continue to have issues with the water butts being left on, we may have to remove them altogether. As we’re on a water meter, the cost of constantly refilling them does add up.
