It's been quite a journey.
This is a digital render of a lightscape composition for Glade.
I collected Glade from MAKE Southwest last week, and it is at my workshop, awaiting a rebuild, calibration, and a software upgrade.
Over the past few months I've also been developing an app for it, and the Glade Controller is now available free on my website, along with an introduction, detailed instructions and some handy tips.
Mostly I've been developing it whilst composing lightscapes for ambient electronic music, but it seemed appropriate to share this more narrative piece first.
Its an exquisite setting of WB Yeats' poem on profound longing - longing for an elusive, impossible ideal, for beauty and connection. It is by the marvelous Jolie Holland This track has been with me all through my journey with this piece.
