Another lovely wall done and dusted and very proud off . this time for a mate of mine , which always has it added pressure doing it for a friend/ family being that more more critical not that I can be any more 😁. As always stone from using Clipston Bidwell stone which I’ve cut and dress down . Coping stone made in bidwell stone by at Stamford stone . Which is all cladded around a block wall inner core for added strength . Big thanks to for helping me with the foundations 👌. Will be back to get some better pictures once mikes finished up with the drive and finishing touches etc .

Another wall repair this time Back in the fens at Ramsey . The wall is part of the old boundary for the old Abby . Interesting job this as the coursing isn’t formal as you would expect with most mortar wall, is very similar to how you coarse a rubble dry stone wall . Been a lovely job from start to finish and massive thank to Sharon & Neil for the work and keeping topped up with plenty of tea and cake . Look forward to coming back next year and repairing the other side of the drive entrance.

This last month I’ve been working on this New low retaining wall that I’ve installed around this lovely old red wood tree in Barnack. Using a mixture of Barnack rag that was from the existing wall before and new walling from Stamford stone co.

The gates are on 🙌, finished this job late last year , replaced two horrible bradstone pillars for two new one’s constructed with bidwell stone from from then I’ve tinted the stone with liquid weather from the to make it blend in with the barn behind them . Been use this product for 10 years now and can’t fault it . perfect for blending new stone to match old reclaim and doesn’t cost the customer a small fortune having to buying reclaimed stone 👌I’ve found diluting the solution by half with water works the best then simply spray it on with a water gun . With the stone being so porous It’s tints the stone permanently straight way , then it’s just of case of how many coats you need to give it to match the existing wall your blending into.

Wall repair , station rd Whittlesey :
Re building what must be the only stone wall in Whittlesey .very unusual stone , harder then any think I’ve work with before and such unusual shapes to it , trying to making the best job I can with it .
more lime mortar then stone facing area is not what I like to see but I’m the case it has to be done because of the nature of the stone.
This section of wall was in desperate state of repair with the section of wall next to the tree collapsed because of the roots below pushing up , And with the rest of the walling snaking and bulging all over the place , it’s all had to come down .
The tree was listed so I’ve had the bridge the roots with concrete lintel in attempt to stop this happing again . The wall has sadly been repaired with that must cement over the years it’s Came down in chunks and a good half of it having to be thrown away .
Making great progress now as half way built , should be another 2 weeks from finishing .

Replacement of a 20 year mortared stone faced wall that was built very badly , most of the wall crumbing from super strong cement mortar and very soft cheap stone. Wall replaced with new cropped stone from Stamford stone co dressed and sharped for a drystone finish. The only good part from the old wall was the c**k n hen capping stone which I’ve reused.

10 months to the day & 5 new shiny walls later . Been such a great project this one with so many different things going on . Massive thank you Andrew & Clare forgiving me this project . And for Andrew getting involved and moving tonnes of stuff around site for me and dressing 80% of the new stone for me , absolute legend . Im actually going to have do some work on the next job 😆.
Big thanks to keeping me going with quality stone as always and all the lads at Jewsons Stamford with all my last minute delivery’s.

The final stage at the old post house . What a great job this has been . Last part of the wall was to Build in a block up door way as a feature for the bottom of the garden . There were signs of an old door way here before from the other side of the wall. So we decided put back what was there but make it look like proper entrance . Constructed so if the gate way wants to be a entrance to the garden it easily can be taken down to do so.
