The Corona Virus is something that is hard to get away from at the moment. It could well have disastrous consequences for many of us, particularly the older, or more vulnerable.
Many businesses across the world are looking, quite rightly, at how to mobilise workforces, and remain trading in the event of reduced personal movement, leading to us to invoke DR strategy/plans, maybe for the first time.
However, there might be an upside…
A, We get to test aforementioned DR plans
B, We might actually use the technology that we already have in place and when all of this dies down, continue to use mobile and home working more often.
We are hard coded to travel to and from work, or to meetings, both nationally and internationally, yet there is mounting pressure to consider environmental concerns.
Travel is both costly in terms of time, and carbon output, congestion, wear and tear on roads etc, so maybe if we can be as productive working remotely, why not benefit the environment?
This may be a time however to ensure that any remote working solutions are correctly configured, and have been tested for vulnerabilities.
Nellcote will be conducting as many meetings as possible, either calls, VC via MS Teams or WhatsApp as possible over the next months, maybe its something we all stick with?
