I picked up a few of these tin nichos in Mexico 30 years ago on a trip with my dad. I’m so glad I went with him as being with him meant we could go to weirder, dodgier places that I could never have gone to alone. We found these in a an old chaps back yard behind a shop, it was either a religious reclamation place or maybe he was a restorer. We had to climb over huge crosses, pews and statues to get a look at everything properly.
