Hi all,

It's a really lovely thing seeing these components coming together so I thought I'd share. There's something very beautiful about the way the grain flows around the bow like curve and then seamlessly around the corner into the straight component on the side . In due course these will have Cornish burl tops to them with an ebonised poplar banding around the edge, in the meantime enjoy these wonderful photos that took of me and my work📸🪵.

Hi all!

I thought I'd share with you a brief description of my caddys from my website.

Handcrafted in Cornwall from Cornish or reclaimed hardwoods, my caddys draw on mid-century design with soft curves and a functional form. Echoing the loop handle design from the tray collection, the curved sides add a subtle, sentimental detail while allowing the natural grain of the wood to remain the focus.

Designed to be versatile, these caddys work just as well in the kitchen, holding oils, herbs or everyday essentials as it does in the bedroom or bathroom, organising jewellery, skincare or makeup.

Each piece is entirely unique, shaped by the individual character and grain of the wood, making your caddy individual.

Happy New Year all!

It was really nice to take a few days off with my lovely emily over the Christmas period. You may or may not know Emily but as well as being my wonderful partner she doubles as my head of administration. She has been diligently helping me behind the scenes with my buisness whether it's giving a hand at one of my market stalls or updating the website. Her work isn't to go unnoticed.

Thanks for all of your continued support! there's plenty of exiting things instore for 2026!

Hi all!

This is my friend and band mate Kerensa. She is a hammerd dulcimer player and she commissioned me about a month ago to make this dulcimer stand. I doubt there are many who can say they own a dulcimer stand made out of cornish ash, however karensa seemed very grateful to be one of the few!

Here are a couple pictures of her trying it out for the very first time. Thanks for the commission kerensa!

This is a design I've been pondering for a couple of weeks now and I've decided to take the plunge and start making! I'm very exited to embark on this project as I have been working on a very small scale recently and although this isn't a massive project, it still poses some interesting challenges that I'm looking forward to working through. as always I'll keep you posted!

Making sure my tools are sharp i then proceed to plain the joinery flush. this is one of the most satisfying stages of the make as the joinery really "makes or breaks" the pieces so to speak.

You can purchase one now at the link below!

After the timber is dimensioned the next stage is cutting the external joinery, thiese joints are called dovtails and are not only are they a great exercise in paitents but also a strong and aesthetic joint.

The process of dovetailing by hand is something I've honed in on over the years and I plan to continue incorporating in my projects.

Timber selection is paramount to a great finished piece, and that's why I take my time to select the best grains especially for the carcass components.

I source my timber from various local makers and since the trinket boxes are small I can use offcuts as to not cut up large slabs of timber. Not only does this reduce waste but it also means I can select grains with more or less fuiger to match the other components.

So some of you may be wondering what's next? And although I haven't got a crystal clear picture of what's next, I can give you an idea.

What I'm planning to do is have a design faze from now until mid February where I'll design a new product for you to feast your eyes on! Wich I'm very exited to get stuck into!

I'm also going to be making another batch of jewlery boxes along side designing as people seem to be enjoying them, which is very nice to see.

This time around I'm going to try and document the process of making the trinket boxes so that you can see what goes into the construction of them!

In the meantime why not visit my etsy shop and help support my endeavours!
