Bit of a special little stick, for young Emmerline Lilya. Honoured to have been asked to make a first wee caman this week. Alan MacÇetin helped us set up ESA back in 2013, seems only fitting that the first caman we've made from our own 90 year old Goodagrane Ash was for his wean. Laid down at the start of 2018, always sad to see such a lovely tree down, extra special to see it in safe hands. Wish them every happiness introducing the call of the caman...

First test of the Goodagrane ash felled in 2018, just single piece toddler sticks at the mo....plus a couple of repairs of another makers camans...really pleased with the jointing, should get another few years action out of a couple of favourite sticks yet. Even the best stick sadly breaks when someone swings straight through the shaft at full centre or someone gets in the way high enough up your caman...good to know, even a 90 degree (straight) break can be rescued with a couple of tight scarf joints- a tight twined wrap will complete the repairs...

Huge thanks to everyone that travelled to play with us this w/e and to Kilmory Camanchd and Eric MacDonald for hosting us so generously. It was a real pleasure to return to Kilmory after so many years and fantastic to see two sides back out on the park. Learning quite so much, both on and off the pitch- who knew sheep horn was so effective repairing camans? Thinking of composite bows etc its obvious- can't wait to try it!

After a hard fought game in Lochgilphead, ESA came away with 5-0 loss. The scoreline doesn't reflect the skill level of the English side. Thank you to all the players who made the long journey north.

Really good to see the Camanchd Association putting together a forum on Caman making and mending....very much hope we'll get a chance to meet up with a good few makers on Tour July 25th-Aug 3rd...

NOBODY exactly knows when Scottish carpenters started making camans. But everybody knows they might stop doing so soon.
