An update from our Equine Secretary.

"Plans for the 2026 Horse Section are well underway with lots happening behind the scenes. This year we are delighted to welcome back Unaffiliated Show Jumping with classes to suit everyone.

We are just confirming our judges for all classes and adding the final details to our schedule. Please keep an eye on our social media pages for this going live soon.

Please note that all horses entering the showground must be fully up to date with vaccinations. Proof can be requested at any time.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to this year's Pen*stone Show. Thank you"

Eeh! I turned up with me checklist ready at the Committee Meeting last week to made sure everyone was doing their jobs properly. Someone has to keep an eye on things, after all!

Behind the scenes, the volunteers are working hard to get everything ready for this brilliant year's show. There’s plenty to organise, but it’s all worth it to bring you a proper Yorkshire day out.

As for me, I supervised proceedings, inspected the biscuits and made a few important suggestions. Well, I tried.

Right then… time to come clean. I didn’t make myself. I was carefully made by the step mum of one of the show volunteers. We really do have some proper talented hands behind the scenes.

And now, here’s the strange bit, after you all chose the name *Stanley* for me last year, we found out her dad was actually called Stanley too. I know! How amazing! Bit of a coincidence, or was it meant to be? I’m taking it as a good sign for this year’s show.

I’ll be busy between now and Saturday 12th September, along with the rest of the show volunteers, making sure everything’s in order for a proper day out.

Ey up! I’m Stanley having my first visit to the show field. I'm the (slightly woolly, homemade) face of the Pen*stone Agricultural Show. And I’ve been carefully made right here in our community (and I’m very proud of that).

Over the next few months I’ll be out and about across Pen*stone, spending time with the show volunteers, making sure that everything’s getting ready for Saturday 12th September… well someone’s got to keep an eye on things!
