hink it's really important to continue the tradition of making things in Britain - so many skills have been lost in the last few decades. We use the best British hardwoods, as local as we can get it and much of it from Pembrokeshire, near our workshop in West Wales. We like to support small local sawmills and woodsmen and that's where we often find the treasures of yew, elm and other native trees that we love the most. You can find unusual sizes and pieces of oak, ash and sycamore, pieces with knots, burrs and wany-edged bark, that larger sawmills usually cut off and pulp up as waste. These are the bits we like to incorporate into our furniture, the bits with character and a sense of place. Everyone needs furniture, but a handmade piece of furniture is special – exclusive and individual to you, it tells the world that you care. Your table is the hub of your home and there is nothing like sitting around it - enjoying good food, good conversation and sharing life with your friends and loved ones…

We hope you love our designs and look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Everyone,
It seems a long time ago since we stood outside our first little shop in Pembroke Main Street in 2009.
We’ve been making Uniqueworks handmade furniture for thirteen years now and it seems to have been all we’ve lived and breathed throughout that time. Unbelievable to give it all up – but we have decided to do just that and to follow a new opportunity in Herefordshire, where Jake has been offered a really interesting job, at the very wonderful Whitney Sawmills.

There’ll be more news to follow, but for now, thank you to everyone who’s supported us, everyone who we’ve met, collaborated with and befriended along the way.

Our very best wishes and here’s to a new adventure,
Stephanie & Jake, Uniqueworks Co-Founders

We will be closing everything down at the workshop in Pembroke Dock quite quickly now.
A sale of stock will go on at the workshop until the end of February.

Bit of a break from tradition - our latest bespoke bit of furniture for a brilliant client of ours, is a funky modern shelf unit - solid oak and dark stain. Bit of a challenger this one, but very satisfying to get it all finished and proper 😍

One of the pieces on show at our Christmas Uniqueworks Open Studio event – coming up tomorrow!
Friday & Saturday 10th – 11th December 10-4pm.
It’s a bit of a fancy coffee table with pretty stunning fiddleback sycamore panels cut into a dark native elm frame.

Looking forward to having a bit of a do over the next couple of days 🎄 Mince pies, nice furniture, woody stuff and two friendly Uniqueworkers 🙂
