It all started a little over 25 years ago from a tiny workshop in Oxfordshire with two brothers working together making all manner of furniture and soft furnishings. Since then we’ve expanded and our work is now being delivered and installed all over the UK and into Europe for all kinds of clients. Both domestic and contract orders have found their way into private residencies, local authorities,

hotels, guesthouses and even embassies to name but a few. Over the years we have seen many changes within the industry and thankfully, with careful planning and just a little luck, we’ve evolved and moved with the times as well! it goes without saying that Catherine Charles prides itself on the sort of Customer Service we know you want to receive, the right price, regular updates, guaranteed delivery dates and the perfect product. Happy Bank Holiday Friday!

We’ve had an eclectic mix of fabrics to use this week, each achieving beautiful headboards, here are just a couple of them!
Note the creative way of working with a restricted fabric quantity on the first headboard by covering just the ends of the pillowstop and using calico in the middle. It’s completely hidden behind the mattress so as long as the ends perfectly match the headboard above no one would be any the wiser!

Happy Thursday everybody, doesn’t a short week always feel like a long week! 🤪

Hopefully everyone is enjoying a little downtime over the bank holiday weekend doing whatever makes you happy. Whether it’s spending time with family and friends or just being able to sit down and surf through Instagram relaxed in the knowledge that you don’t have to do anything else for half an hour!!

So, as you’ve kindly stopped at this post let me show you some very pretty pieces that have made their way out of the workshop in the recent days! There are more to come over the weekend, I just thought I might pique your interest to come back!!

Thank crunchie it’s Friday! It’s been super busy and we’re most definitely looking forward to the Easter break coming up next week!!

Before we get there, just a couple of really pretty bespoke shaped headboards, the client has even designed one of the fabrics! When we regularly work in the same fabrics, it’s really refreshing to work with something completely new and a dream when it can be printed railroaded 😊😊

We all need some colour on a dreary Friday in February so how about this fabulously technicolour pelmet to brighten up your day!
We love it!

Then we have two statuesque lambrequins set to grace some very large windows, the fabric has been custom printed, see if you can spot a couple of man’s best friend!!

It’s single headboards galore in the workroom today, we love it when we get brand new designs to create!

Assuming we don’t need to defy gravity, we can pretty much cope with any design so let your imagination run riot - we’re up for the challenge!

Goodness! We’ve almost got to the end of January, how on earth did that happen!

So, on this rather grey Monday morning we thought we’d show you how easily we can morph a long pelmet into a beautiful butterfly! Stick to the last image to see our seamstress’s stunning pattern matching!

It’s been very busy lately and I haven’t had much chance to post any pictures so whilst I have some time on this sunny autumn Sunday I thought I’d share a few recent headboards we’ve enjoyed making! It’s always such a pleasure getting to work with such beautiful fabrics, it’s especially exciting seeing the pieces evolve from the drawing to the finished piece!
