Anyone can browse our books, learn more about the collection, request information or recommendations from our lovely librarians, and sign up to be a borrower.

Oxford Poetry Library is a pedal-powered mobile lending library of poetry which aims to be a free and open resource of poetry for readers of all backgrounds, tastes, and ages. We carry our collection around the city in our trusty custom-built cargo bike, appearing at weekly farmer’s markets, fairs and festivals, and other community events. Becoming a member is free, and once registered, borrowers can request, reserve, and borrow books, and then return them within two weeks by visiting the library at any one of our stops.

This Is Just To Say is BACK for November on Tues 3rd — introducing our featured poet Beck Reynolds! Beck is a poet and campaigner from Oxford. Her work has recently been published in Thimble Lit, Re*****on Review, Mouthful of Salt, The Poetry Lighthouse and others. She is one of the organisers of Drafting Table, a workshop series for developing poets. She is working on her debut pamphlet, exploring the absurdities of office life.

Beck has chosen the theme of BUSINESS AS USUAL 🏢 👔 so get into that cubicle... we can't wait. More details, as ever, to come...

This Saturday! Come heal your heart at our workshop about heartbreak! "It Is Otherwise For Us" is part of the After Love exhibition and event series at Ovada – a project on romantic heartbreak by Dr Sally Holloway.

Join Maya and Phoebe from the Oxford Poetry Library on 17 October at 2pm at Ovada for a relaxed, explorative afternoon of poetry. Looking at two poems that span the tenth century to present day, we’ll consider how experiences of heartbreak resonate and shift through time, holding the universal and personal side by side.

You’ll have plenty of time for writing, with guided prompts helping you to explore seeing heartbreak from new perspectives. Full details:
