So I saw this post and couldn't resist delving deeper. Turns out people decorate their homes seasonally, not just for Halloween and Christmas.
Someone even has specific dates - 'September 1 - October 31 is fall decor. November 1 Christmas decorations go up'.

Yes, most of the commenters are American, as we know they love a pumpkin, but many commenters are in the UK.

I commented that I hope all of these decorations don't end up in landfill one day and I got the ultimate burn, 'I bet your (sic) fun at parties'.

I am a boring t**t when it comes to overconsumption. I care about the absolute never-ending supply of homeware tat spewing out of Chinese factories and eventually ending up in landfill because, let's face it, that B&M 'autumn reef (sic)' sure as hell isn't getting passed down through the generations.

I know I'm preaching to the converted here, so I'll shut up now. But my parting words will be...

It never ceases to amaze me what treasures lurk in Otley's bargainlicious 20p Shop. Too good for the tip but not good enough for charity, is how I'd sum it up.

Possibly my most unusual commission yet?!

This vintage wooden butler (giving Poirot vibes?) was wobbly and damaged. With a freshly sanded base and tray, as well as a lick of paint in some areas, he is ready to serve again. But, most importantly, he does not look brand new. We do character, not perfection!

What a dapper fella!

Tired of having to buy a new pretty pot every time you repot a plant?

Or just making do with the plastic garden centre ones because it's too much expense/faff?

This plant pot jacket is ideal for covering plain, chipped, or plastic plant pots. The ties make it fully adjustable, although it will have an upper and lower limit. My pot is 45cm circumference, approx 15cm diameter.

This took me about 30 mins (+25 years for the filming 🫠)

Have a go! This is my new favourite hobby. No plant will ever be underdressed again!
