The origin of my ideas lies in my previous career as a hardwood floor layer. This work filled a successful & happy 10 years of my life. Life changed when I needed numerous surgeries as a result of Crohn's Disease. I tried to continue, battling on for a few more years, until reluctantly my surgeon & I agreed I should stop. Herringbone Tables was born! After some time thinking, designing, creating I
began to realise why stop at dining tables. Since installing my first herringbone floor in 2006, I've loved the pattern. The many shades & affects you get from various angles makes this style admirable. I have a great interest in a variety of styles and an appreciation of the old & new. My initial idea was to create a classic farmhouse table with a modern twist, using both traditional & up to date carpentry techniques. I quickly came to realise this design could be transferred to other forms, which then evolved into coffee tables, side tables, clocks, mirrors, even kitchen island worktops. My creations look at home in either modern or period settings, an amazing addition to any space.
