Few things are more satisfying than a well-organised kitchen. Pan drawers are one of the simplest ways to get there.

Deeper than a standard drawer, they're designed to hold the weight of heavier pots, pans, and crockery.

One big benefit is that everything immediately comes into view the moment you open them. No bending, no rummaging, no stacking things three deep hoping you can find what you need.

Our handmade drawers can handle up to 40KG in total weight, which is more than enough to comfortably store your entire cast-iron set.

Placement matters too. Position them near the cooker or within an island and they become one of the hardest-working parts of your kitchen.

Like most things in a bespoke kitchen, it's a small decision that makes a big difference every day.

A classic Cotswold farmhouse kitchen set against original oak beams and limestone floors.

The brief asked for a sophisticated family space with a seamless link to the house's informal entrance. We introduced a walk-through boot room between the entrance and the kitchen, keeping it clutter-free.

The kitchen design itself features in-frame Shaker cabinetry in rich blues, complemented by a Carrara White quartz worktop inspired by a Victorian washstand uncovered during the property's restoration

All of this was centred around the AGA – a focal point for the space.

The project extended to include a bespoke boot room and utility area – all designed and built as one.

Kitchen canopies and extractors can be centrepiece features or nearly invisible. The choice is yours, but it's one worth considering.

Whether you choose a concealed design or one that makes a statement in the kitchen, here's how we think about it.

A concealed extractor can be recessed into the ceiling above an island or tucked neatly beneath a run of cabinetry. No canopy at all. For a very modern, handleless kitchen, this is often exactly what's needed. The extractor disappears meaning nothing interrupts the clean lines.

A slim stainless steel hood above the hob is the next step up. It's functional but not overbearing, offering a contemporary detail to any kitchen.

Then there's the painted, wooden canopy – a classic in a more traditional or countryside-style kitchen. Corbels, moulding, inset lighting, and a complementary splashback make it a feature in its own right, framing your cooking space.

Alternatively, you can now opt for downdraft hobs that draw the steam, smoke, grease and odors downward – just like the London house in the last image – freeing up even more storage space above.

Two tones of – Elephants Breath and Skimming Stone – run throughout, with colour and cabinet design connecting the two spaces. Curved corner wall cabinets soften the environment, while a lowered food prep area in the island keeps mess out of sight.

After a complete kitchen renovation – that helped the client fall back in love with a house they were originally going to sell – we were invited back to design, make and install wardrobes, drawers and headboards in four bedrooms.

When it comes to kitchen design, handles are one of those decisions that people often leave until last – but they shouldn't.

The right handle can shift a kitchen from traditional to contemporary, from understated to bold, from quiet craftsmanship to something that really makes a statement.

A slim, brushed brass bar handle brings warmth and a touch of the boutique. A chunky cup handle nods to something more classic and considered. A matte black pull handle feels architectural and modern.

And then there's the choice to have no handle at all.

Handleless kitchens create a beautifully clean, seamless look – where the cabinetry itself becomes the design. Integrated push-to-open mechanisms means every surface is uninterrupted and every line is deliberate.

Both approaches have their place. It just depends on how you want your kitchen to feel for you.

The client's brief asked for an ultra-modern kitchen packed with high-end appliances and all the storage a family home needs.

They were thrilled with the finish!

This full-width kitchen extension incorporates a sleek, handleless finish with soft-close doors and drawers, created in oak veneer and factory-painted in Charleston Gray.
