David Musson Fencing Ltd is a family-run business founded in 1981 to supply fencing materials to the local area. As a company with many years of experience in the fencing industry, we always strive to give a good service to our customers by offering quality products at very competitive prices.
We are now recruiting for order Picking staff, the ideal person will have experience within the builders' merchants/ timber-merchant sector in a yard or warehouse environment. A FLT license is essential to perform this role, but full training can be given for the right candidate.
As a Picking operative your role will involve manual handling as well as using equipment to load and unload deliveries, interacting with customers and making sure they are satisfied, and ensuring the yard is kept presented to a high standard. There is always a variety of jobs and plenty to do so it is important that the candidate can use initiative and is able to manage their time efficiently. This full-time and permanent Picking role can provide an excellent foundation for a successful career in the builders' merchants / timber-merchant sector whilst supplying a competitive salary.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assisting customers.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Loading and unloading vehicles.
• Picking and checking orders.
• Storing stock safely.
• Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
• Manual handling tasks.
•Stock taking.
Qualifications and Skills (desired – but training provided as above)
• A Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
• Tele Truck licence an advantage.
• Builders’ merchant / timber-merchant industry knowledge.
You will be working within a close-knit team and will be dealing with our customers on a daily basis, so we are looking for someone that:

• Has good attention to detail (Reading, Writing & Counting is essential!)
• Is prepared to work outside in all weathers.

This position requires the candidate to work a shift pattern which includes alternate Saturdays.
Transport to and from our yard can be arranged from Melton Mowbray and surrounding area.
